Degroof Petercam Bank: A Long Tradition of Investment in Art
We are a private bank that prioritises a holistic approach to wealth, taking into account all its facets. We are also aware of the importance of preserving the cultural and artistic heritage of those who, like our clients, have acquired and, over time, nurtured their passion for art and even enriched their collections.
Art is indeed an asset that requires a very specific understanding and management. This is why we support our clients in this area with Art Advisory, a dedicated service to assist them with their individual needs, from building a collection to its preservation and transmission.
Preserving a trace of one’s history and ensuring its smooth passage to future generations with complete peace of mind. As guardians of our clients’ wealth, art is therefore essential to us.
But beyond the intrinsic value of the objects that comprise it, art is also a vehicle for connection, sharing, and openness to the world through the refined, poetic vision of artists.
In this regard, since its founding in 1871—and throughout its history—Degroof Petercam Bank has also personally invested as a patron in supporting artists.
Building on this heritage, we continue to support various artistic activities, associations, and institutions. More recently, Degroof Petercam has become a patron of the new Ixelles Museum and ‘Het Kunstuur’—the educational museum initiative of brothers Joost and Hans Bourlon in Mechelen, Hasselt, and Roeselare—and in Luxembourg, the Grand Duke Jean Museum of Modern Art (Mudam), as well as a partner of the Belgian pavilion at the 2024 Venice Biennale.
In the same spirit, Degroof Petercam also actively supports the Antica Namur Fine Art Fair. For over five years, we have proudly been the partner of this renowned art fair, which has found its place among the major European salons.
